MarineTrack Events
The concept for MarineTrack was developed in 1999 by a group of telematic engineers specialising in remote monitoring facilities in the area of medicine. The idea developed in response to their awareness, as seasoned recreational sailors, of the growing requirements of the Mega/Super yachts in the area of monitoring and alerting requirements.

In response to the requirement of SuperYacht owners/operators, who were aware of the need to supply the Master and crew with a system capable of alerting shore authorities in the event of their vessels security being compromised, the engineers released their first yacht security alerting system. Post 9/11 the commercial shipping industry introduced the International Ship and Port Facility Code (IMO-SOLAS–ChapterXI-2-ISPS code) that required all vessels over 500GRT who were trading internationally to fit and activate a Ship Security Alert System (SSAS).

In 2003 the company released the flag and type approved Seaguard – SSAS, a robust and reliable unit that was the choice of many of the leading cruise companies, including the prestigious Royal Caribbean and Celebrity cruise lines.

As the company expanded under the SSAS requirement, they launched the Track200D to offer a simplified tracking and monitoring solution to the marine recreational sector. The product provides security, monitoring and management solutions for owners/operators and event organisers of leisure craft. Focusing on the web applications and network services that receive and display the onboard device information, the company combined the robust units with leading software, placing MarineTrack in a strong position to start developing and customising their existing products for wider marine telematic applications.

In 2006 MarineTrack engaged in the development of a complete operational and logistic turnkey solution for oil producer, Shell (Gabon). This gave the client the ability to reduce personnel rotas, drilling material delivery times, refuelling and replenishment journeys and also reduced safety incidents within their marine and land application. MarineTrack achieved this by combining their monitoring devices with custom built web applications.

The combination of proven expertise and communication technology delivered into structured and sound markets has empowered MarineTrack to grow from strength to strength.

The commercial sector continues to expand supplying existing customers growing fleets and new customer transferring their requirements to MarineTrack’s services. Further system and application releases in 2008/2009 will encourage continued growth in the recreational sector. Also taking into consideration the uncertain financial times and given the heightened need for a safe and secure environment, MarineTrack also looks certain to continue to deliver more custom built application opportunities in other markets.
